Working with youth and young adults who struggle with social situations has been an incredibly authentic experience for us. In this space, thoughts and feelings are expressed freely, without the pressures of societal expectations. Each student we encounter is a true gift, and as we build connections with them, we discover the unique talents and perspectives they bring to the world. It’s inspiring to witness their journeys unfold, revealing the richness they have to offer. We have found it fulfilling and enriching working with these remarkable individuals!
MEET THE TEAM
Karla Gragg
is a UCLA-trained Peers Social Instructor. For the past seven years, she has pioneered a specialized program in Southern California aimed at teaching social and life skills to young adults on the Autism Spectrum and other neurodevelopmental differences.
Along with her UCLA training, Karla received her bachelor's in economics from UCSD and her Master's in Special Education from National University. Driven by her passion for education, Karla continues to refine and implement an evidence-based social skills curriculum, helping young adults navigate the complexities of social interactions with confidence and competence.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Karla finds joy in her role as a mother, going on walks and she also nurtures a love for travel, eagerly looking forward to exploring new destinations whenever possible.
Sarah Bailey
is a dedicated educator and advocate with over thirteen years of experience developing and leading programs for children and teens, many of whom are on the autism spectrum. She specializes in teaching social skills, emotional resilience, and time management, fostering a supportive classroom environment where individuals can thrive and learn to socialize effectively with peers.
Sarah holds a degree in Childlife Therapy from the University of Utah, providing her with a solid foundation in child development and therapeutic techniques tailored to the needs of neurodiverse children.
Based in Northern California, Sarah resides with her husband and enjoys spending her free time skiing and playing pickleball.
Sarah is excited to work with Karla as a PEERS instructors for young adults!
